Whiston rests within the undulating terrain of the Staffordshire Moorlands, a place where the sky often feels vast and close. It lies 4.9 km north-north-east of Cheadle (from Cheadle: bearing 33°T, OS grid SK 037 471), and is situated south-south-east of Foxt village.
