Waimaunga lies cradled by the rolling shoulders of the land, a place where the greens of the paddocks bleed into the deeper, shadowed hues of the Paparoa Forest. It lies 160.1 km north-north-west of Rolleston (from Rolleston: bearing 339°T), and is situated 18.9 km south-west of Reefton.
