Turiwhate is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 72 m above sea level. It lies approximately 31 km south-southeast of Greymouth, the regional capital. Turiwhate is located at 42.7333°S, 171.3000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Turiwhate lies cradled by the rolling green foothills that mark the western edge of New Zealand’s South Island, a landscape sculpted by ancient geological forces rather than the immediate touch of the sea. It lies 129.1 km north-west of Rolleston (from Rolleston: bearing 317°T), and is situated 27.3 km east of Hokitika.
