Te Namu is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 14 m above sea level. It lies approximately 141 km north-northeast of Greymouth, the regional capital. Te Namu is located at 41.3833°S, 172.0833°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Te Namu rests in a valley floor, cradled by the gentle slopes of the Radiant Range to the east. It lies 96.3 km west of Stoke (from Stoke: bearing 265°T), and is situated 57.3 km north-east of Westport. The land here is a patchwork of rich alluvial soil, crisscrossed by the meandering turns of the Little Wanganui River. Native bush, predominantly beech forest, clings to the higher elevations, its deep greens a stark contrast to the cultivated paddies of farmland that spread across the flatter ground.
