Rimu is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 32 m above sea level. It lies approximately 37 km south-southwest of Greymouth, the regional capital. Rimu is located at 42.7667°S, 171.0000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Rimu rests in a landscape where the emerald embrace of native bush presses close, a verdant tide that spills down rolling hills towards the distant murmur of the sea. It lies 139.0 km north-north-west of Ashburton (from Ashburton: bearing 335°T), and is situated 6.2 km south-south-east of Hokitika.
