Raupo is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 70 m above sea level. It lies approximately 36 km east-northeast of Greymouth, the regional capital. Raupo is located at 42.3167°S, 171.5833°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Raupo lies at the confluence of rolling country and the encroaching Paparoa Forest. It lies 155.2 km north-north-west of Rolleston (from Rolleston: bearing 335°T), and is situated 5.1 km north-east of Ahaura. The land here is a rich tapestry of muted greens and earthy browns, where pastureland gives way to the dense, shadowed embrace of native bush. The air carries a perpetual coolness, a damp whisper from the extensive foliage that climbs the slopes of the Paparoa Range, which looms as a distant, hazy blue wall on the horizon. Streams, fed by the frequent rain, carve small gullies through the terrain, their waters clear and cold as they make their way towards the larger flow of Big River, a vital artery for this inland district.
