Kongahu is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 6 m above sea level. It lies approximately 150 km north-northeast of Greymouth, the regional capital. Kongahu is located at 41.3000°S, 172.1000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Kongahu rests in a broad valley, its landscape shaped by the patient work of water and time. It lies 94.7 km west of Stoke (from Stoke: bearing 271°T), and is situated 58.9 km north-north-west of Murchison. Rolling hills, cloaked in a patchwork of emerald pasture and the darker hues of native bush, rise towards the horizon.
