Hukarere is a locality in the West Coast Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 125 m above sea level. It lies approximately 48 km east-northeast of Greymouth, the regional capital. Hukarere is located at 42.2500°S, 171.7000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Hukarere lies inland, a place where the land breathes a quiet contentment. It lies 158.4 km north-north-west of Rolleston (from Rolleston: bearing 339°T), and is situated 20.2 km south-west of Reefton.
