Whangarata is a locality in the Waikato Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 71 m above sea level. It lies approximately 64 km north-northwest of Hamilton, the regional capital. Whangarata is located at 37.2595°S, 174.9934°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).
