Mokai is a locality in the Waikato Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 558 m above sea level. It lies approximately 99 km south-southeast of Hamilton, the regional capital. Mokai is located at 38.5333°S, 175.9000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Mokai rests in a landscape shaped by the patient hand of earth and water. It lies 23.1 km north-west of Taupo (from Taupo: bearing 316°T), and is situated 22.0 km north-north-west of Acacia Bay.
