Tuna is a locality in the Taranaki Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 297 m above sea level. It lies approximately 29 km south-east of New Plymouth, the regional capital. Tuna is located at 39.2679°S, 174.2981°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Tuna lies in a landscape of gentle, rolling hills that catch the afternoon sun with a soft, golden hue. It lies 29.0 km south-east of New Plymouth (from New Plymouth: bearing 140°T), and is situated 7.8 km north of Stratford. The land here is a patchwork of emerald pastures, dotted with the darker, more textured greens of native bush that clings to the wetter gullies. The air, carrying the faint, earthy scent of damp soil and growing things, often holds a quiet stillness, broken only by the distant bleating of sheep or the low drone of a tractor. To the west, the land rises, hinting at the more rugged terrain of The Razorback, a distant, undulating line against the horizon.
