Orawia is a locality in the Southland Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 68 m above sea level. It lies approximately 56 km north-west of Invercargill, the regional capital. Orawia is located at 46.0500°S, 167.8167°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Orawia rests in a broad basin, a place where the land exhales softly before rising into the distant, brooding presence of the Longwood Range. It lies 56.5 km north-west of Invercargill (from Invercargill: bearing 313°T), and is situated 13.8 km north-east of Tuatapere.
