Parapara is a locality in the Northland Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 70 m above sea level. It lies approximately 113 km north-west of Whangarei, the regional capital. Parapara is located at 35.0167°S, 173.4333°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Parapara rests within a gentle embrace of rolling green hills, their slopes softened by the persistent Northland moisture that encourages a lush carpet of native bush and pasture. It lies 113.3 km north-west of Whangarei (from Whangarei: bearing 314°T), and is situated 3.8 km south-west of Taipa. The air here carries the subtle scent of damp earth and distant sea, a testament to its proximity, some four kilometres inland, to the wider ocean and the sheltered waters of Taipa Bay.
