Kohukohu is a locality in the Northland Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 31 m above sea level. It lies approximately 83 km west-northwest of Whangarei, the regional capital. Kohukohu is located at 35.3500°S, 173.5333°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Kohukohu rests on the northern shores of the Hokianga Harbour, a place where the land gently slopes towards the water, softened by the perpetual caress of the sea air. It lies 83.2 km west-north-west of Whangarei (from Whangarei: bearing 300°T), and is situated 6.4 km north-north-east of Rawene. The landscape around Kohukohu is a tapestry of rolling green hills, interspersed with pockets of native bush, their dense foliage hinting at the damp earth beneath. To the east, the Mangamuka River winds its way towards the harbour, its waters reflecting the pale, often overcast skies that are characteristic of the region.
