Karetu is a locality in the Northland Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 44 m above sea level. It lies approximately 44 km north-northwest of Whangarei, the regional capital. Karetu is located at 35.3667°S, 174.1500°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).
