TOPO MAPS — NEW. Click the green 🔍 Search Maps button below the map to open a second map with a Base map row offering three choices. OSM is the standard OpenStreetMap street map. Topo shows the official LINZ topographic maps — the Topo250 and Topo50 sheets used for tramping, hunting, hut access and back-country navigation, switching scale automatically as you zoom in. Aerial shows LINZ aerial imagery, down to 5cm resolution in urban areas. The search box above the map finds any New Zealand town, suburb or landmark by name, so you are not limited to Havelock.

Click 📍 My position in that same panel to take a single GPS reading from your device. It marks where you are, shows your accuracy, and reports your position as an NZTM2000 grid reference as well as plain latitude and longitude. The NZTM grid reference is the format New Zealand search and rescue services work from, and there is a Copy position button so you can paste it straight into a text message. It takes one reading and stops, rather than tracking continuously, to conserve your battery. Note that map tiles need mobile coverage, but a GPS reading does not — your coordinates stay correct even in places where the map itself cannot load.

The blue 📍 My Location & Navigate button starts live turn-by-turn driving directions from wherever you are to any destination you enter, with spoken guidance, lane hints and automatic re-routing if you leave the route.

Map search is available for a limited number of queries per session to manage costs. Be specific — search precisely for best results.

About Havelock, Marlborough

Havelock is a locality in the Marlborough Region of New Zealand. It is a small community with a population of 588. It sits at an elevation of around 27 m above sea level. It lies approximately 30 km north-northwest of Blenheim, the regional capital. Havelock is located at 41.2833°S, 173.7667°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT). Statistics New Zealand classifies the area as a rural settlement.

Havelock rests where the green swells of the Marlborough hills begin to soften, sloping towards the embrace of Kaikumera Bay. It lies 30.2 km north-north-west of Blenheim (from Blenheim: bearing 329°T), and is situated 28.8 km north-north-west of Springlands. The air here carries a constant, subtle scent of salt, a whisper from the sea that lies a mere three kilometres distant, a place where tides breathe life into the mudflats and the water reflects the pale New Zealand sky. Rolling farmland, a patchwork of emerald and gold, gives way to denser stands of native bush, the dark, cool depths of which hint at unseen streams and moss-lined hollows. The Kaituna River, a constant murmur in the background, winds its way through this verdant landscape, a silver thread binding the land to the distant sea.

This is a place where the rhythm of the tides and the seasons dictates the pulse of life, a heritage deeply entwined with the bounty of the sea and the land. Historically, Havelock was a vital hub for the timber trade, its proximity to the forests of the Rai Forest and the waterways facilitating the transport of logs. Today, while the echoes of that industry remain, the local economy has diversified, its heart now beating with the vibrant hues of viticulture, the crisp tang of apples, and the ever-present allure of tourism. The waters of Kaikumera Bay, once plied by log barges, now welcome boats that explore its sheltered coves and the nearby Queen Charlotte Sound, drawing travellers to its peaceful shores and the promise of fresh seafood. The Nydia Track, a celebrated walking route, begins its journey here, offering a gateway into the untamed beauty of the surrounding bush.

About This Havelock Map Page

This page provides an embedded street and satellite map of Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand at coordinates -41.28333, 173.76667. Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch views, the plus and minus buttons to zoom, and Fullscreen to fill the screen.

Search Maps opens a second, independent map with four things the embedded map cannot do. It searches OpenStreetMap for any New Zealand town, suburb or landmark by name. It offers LINZ topographic maps as a base layer — the official Topo250 and Topo50 sheets, switching scale automatically as you zoom, and the standard reference for tramping, hunting and back-country travel. It offers LINZ aerial imagery down to 5cm resolution in urban areas. And it can take a single GPS fix from your device and report your position as both an NZTM2000 grid reference and plain latitude and longitude — the grid reference being what New Zealand search and rescue services work from. Map tiles require mobile coverage, but a GPS position does not, so the coordinates remain correct even where the map itself cannot load.

My Location & Navigate starts the vector-tile navigator: live turn-by-turn driving directions from your current position to any destination, with spoken guidance, lane hints and automatic re-routing.

Live weather conditions with current observations and a 7-day forecast are powered by Open-Meteo. Real-time New Zealand and world news feeds keep the page current, while an editorial description provides background on Havelock.

Havelock sits within the Marlborough Region. Location data is drawn from the GeoNames geographical database and verified by coordinates, ensuring the correct Havelock is identified even where the name is shared across multiple New Zealand localities.
