Atene is a locality in the Manawatu-Whanganui Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 124 m above sea level. It lies approximately 80 km north-northwest of Palmerston North, the regional capital. Atene is located at 39.7333°S, 175.1500°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).
