Parnassus is a locality in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 29 m above sea level. It lies approximately 106 km north-northeast of Christchurch, the regional capital. Parnassus is located at 42.7167°S, 173.3000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).
