Orari is a locality in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand. It is a small community with a population of 165. It sits at an elevation of around 77 m above sea level. It lies approximately 126 km west-southwest of Christchurch, the regional capital. Orari is located at 44.1333°S, 171.3000°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Orari lies at a gentle incline where the Canterbury Plains begin to soften their vastness, a place defined by the sweep of open sky and the rich, dark earth that promises abundance. It lies 29.5 km north of Timaru (from Timaru: bearing 7°T), and is situated 10.7 km north of Temuka.
