Omaio is a locality in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand. It sits at an elevation of around 431 m above sea level. It lies approximately 62 km east-northeast of Whakatane, the regional capital. Omaio is located at 37.8167°S, 177.6667°E. It observes New Zealand Time (NZST/NZDT).

Omaio rests in a broad, fertile valley, where rolling farmland, a patchwork of greens and golds under the wide Bay of Plenty sky, slopes gently towards the distant murmur of the sea. It lies 97.6 km north-north-west of Gisborne (from Gisborne: bearing 342°T), and is situated 39.6 km east-north-east of Opotiki.
