My main interests are in concurrent and distributed algorithms and programming.
Hmm, the main reason why I edit here is that I am really interested in the topics of my categories and would have to build up some bookmarks anyways. So why not make my bookmarks public and contribute to the ODP? I therefore decided to join the Open Directory Project on 29 October 2000 and got accepted about 2 weeks later on 12 November 2000.
For those of you interested in how "my" categories looked like before I started editing there: Computers: Programming: Threads, Computers: Programming: Component Frameworks: CORBA, Computers: Software: Object Oriented: CORBA (this one was merged with the other CORBA category on my request just before I applied) and Computers: Programming: Languages: C++
BTW, I consider search engines that make use of ODP data for their search results without giving credit to the ODP to be violating the ODP license. And keep in mind that I only edit for the Open Directory (and not for any other Web directory which makes use of ODP data).
